I have been going to Campenellas since my high school days in the late 1970's. The calzone and food is just as good now as it was way back when. You will not be disappointed. I recently started using their delivery service which is another way to experience the delicious, fresh, home made food at home.

Just ordered delivery from here for the first time; super impressed. Completely enjoyed talking to the lady who took my order! Chicken parmesan sub was amazing, and I will definitely be ordering again.

Amazing! I am a born and raised NYer and this is by far the best pizza I've found in 19 years in pinellas County.

On a search for a nice pie in a classic atmosphere we opted to come here. Saturday night around 7:30 there were only 3 or 4 other tables taken. Server took a little while to come over, longer then she should of, but after that service was just fine. Ordered a house wine for me and a beer for him. Unfortunately the house cab here was served refrigerator cold . Good thing I got a mini carafe so it could warm up before we drank a second glass. Started with an antipasto appetizer, which turned out to be an antipasto salad, which was fine as it was loaded with mortadella, capacola, prosciutto, 2 cheeses, olives and pickled salad. For $9 it was a great deal. For our pie we opted for a Special traditional style (sans green peppers on half) Came out piping hot , so much we had to let it settle a bit before we could cut a piece. Delicious crust, overall a really good pie. For a total bill of $54 we were very pleased with the service, the atmosphere and the food and will probably go back to try some of their traditional dishes. An old fashioned family run place.

I always forget about this little Italian restaurant it is hidden in a little plaza and the food is good but could be better my favorite is the Broccoli ala Campanella it is so good..I ordered the chicken Parmesan it wasn't that great The sauce was a bit watery...my hubby had the lobster ravioli which was in a sun-dried tomato sauce I personally think the sauce was way too thick..but all the other times I've been there the food has been good the service is great in the atmosphere is nice..The pizza looks amazing I have not tried it so the next time I come here that's what I'm having..hopefully it's good!

Great food, great friendly staff. The pizza is real NY style, thin and delicious. The best in the area by far. The owner came out and introduced himself and made sure everything was to our liking. This will be a regular stop.

Ordered a large cheese pizza to go, but was so hungry I decided to utilize one of the outdoor tables to gobble down a slice. Disappointed to report that the pizza bordered on being flavorless! Won't be going back - despite other favorable reviews.

The food is really good but the service can be kinda slow and the restaurant itself is incredibly and uncomfortably narrow. You gotta walk sideways to get out when it's busy. I wish they would move to a bigger place. I actually avoid going during the busier times because of the tightness of the place, might try the delivery.

This restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside and the indoor decor is kind of tacky. The service is amazing! Very friendly and attentive staff. Loved the sangria. You get a good value for your money. Try the veal or chicken marsala. I will be back here again!

Best pizza in the area! So happy to report on a local family owned business doing it right! In a sea of chain pizza restaurants, Campanella's pizza is a by far the best pizza in Pinellas County. I've had tons of NY pizza (yes, in New York) and Camanella's is the closest to taste and portion size then any other wannabe NY pizza joint here. We have not ventured too far down the menu but the Broccoli Alla Campanella will turn the biggest broccoli hater into a fan! And the cannoli...fogettaboutit! Can't comment too much on service b/c we haven't dined-in in a while (b/c we always do take out) but orders are always right and taste amazing. I highly suggest dining in though because the décor coupled with the food is an amazing Italian dining experience!

Food was just ok. Sauce was tomato paste and water not much more flavor. I hoped for so much more

The olive oil and spices dipping sauce for the bread is heavenly, and the PIZZA is TO DIE FOR! Everything on the menu is amazing, but if you don't try the pizza, you have done a disservice to your mouth.

It's been 5 years since my first review so it's time for an update lol! I have eaten most of the menu by now and still love their pizza. They have a special that they run called Chicken Fuit but they will make it any time if you ask for it, TO DIE FOR! The Veal Bolognese is only offered at dinner but it's a great dish that's monster in portion size. I can literally eat off of it four times, it's that big. The antipasto is fantastic, fresh and beautiful. You can tell how much care goes into the food by the presentations. Food always looks and tastes great! The dinner salad you get with your meal is nothing special, nor is the bread that comes with the meal but I think that's a good thing so I'm not tempted to fill up before my meal comes. Red sangria is tasty too and they are closed on Sunday's. All in all good, classic authentic Italian food that keeps me coming back!

Pasta was not drained and full of water which watered down the sauce. Server was rude. They have a $4.00 coupon for 2 entrees online but would no honor it because I did not print it. Would not accept it from my phone either. For a $4.00 coupon they were willing to give up a repeat customer. After I asked the server went to the front and started talking nasty about us asking about the coupon and I heard the entire conversation. Will not return, they cannot cook pasta and they are rude! Decor is outdated.

Love Campanella's. It's a Pinellas Park staple and I've been getting great food here for years. I always come back for the authentic Italian dishes, family run vibe, and friendly service. The thin crust pizzas are nearly the best in the county, and the fettuccini carbonara is a personal favorite. Check out their website for new specials every week.

We have been going to this place for years. The food has always been great, consistent and affordable. My wife, kids and friends have always walked away satisfied, full and with a box of leftovers. The pizza is out standing as well. We sometimes talk to the owner who's Italian accent is so strong, it is sometimes hard for me to understand him but, my wife has no problem as her Grandmother was Italian. He will recommend an item from the menu that is particularity special that day. He also grows his own herbs! The only reason I give this place 4 stars is the wait staff. We have had WONDERFUL attentive waitresses there and then, some without a clue. Day shift I assume is training time for the new waitresses and that is the only time we have had a server related issue. We love the decor. We like to look at the old pictures and at times, start a conversation with the owner about one of them. Eating there is a very warming for us. It feels like the family place it is and we are treated as such. Give it a shot! Support your local Mom & Pop businesses!

This place has been here for thirty years, and from the look of the kitschy decor, nothing has changed since the day it opened. The walls are covered with tacky murals and photographs of D-list celebrities who have eaten here. Prices are reasonable and portions are huge, but I have to agree with Parker that most of the food isn't what it used to be, although the pizza is very good. If you're in the area, it's an OK place to eat, but it certainly isn't worth a long drive to get here.

I've only had take out pizza from Campanellas, but it is one my favorite local pizza places. They specialize in a thin hand-tossed ny style pizza, and is cooked in a nice brick oven. The cheese tastes great and is cooked till its nice bubbly. Goes very well with their well balanced sauce. Excellent pizza!

Four stars??? (stretch maybe should be three): I am disappointed that I have to write that this place is just got four stars because the food was really really good. Several of my coworkers and me met for lunch so we did not have the time to settle in and enjoy the atmosphere. The experience was overall positive as we were greeted at the door with pleasant "hellos" and smiles. We were quickly seated even though we explained we were waiting for others to join us. Campanella's has a mixture of table and booth seating which is a nice choice. However, it is not a large establishment. The ambience has retro Italian art flare throughout with murals depicting landscapes, statuary, and decorative shelving. I found the décor to be warming and comfortable. The waitress took our order with charming banter and conversation. Very pleasant. The typical order was for drink, bread, salad, and lunch entrée. As the orders were taken it became obvious that the waitress was new. She even commented as such explaining that she needed to check on this and see about that before answering our questions. She even promptly corrected a soft drink order after catching the mistake. All the lunches came out very hot and fresh from the kitchen. I had the Italian Sausage and Peppers with Ziti. You could see the steam rising from the plate. Everyone commented how wonderful the food tasted with mouthwatering flavors. The Italian Sausage was just right, not over spicy, but just enough of a kick to let you know that it was an Italian restaurant. However, as we progressed through lunch we noted that the salads that were supposed to come with our meal never arrived. When we got the bill they had charged one of the meals as at dinner price instead of the lunch price a $6 difference. They promptly corrected the billing with no questions. They did not mention the salad issue. Four stars was a stretch and was not my first choice. I wanted to say three initially. That was until I remembered that the new waitress was honest about being new. That really impressed me when someone can say something as humbling. It is not easy to be new. Therefore, with one recommendation that the other waitress should have shadowed the new waitress more I would give this place another try. It was good food. I saw in previous review data that this was "Full Liquor". They only serve Wine and Beer.

The best Italian food anywhere! My wife and I visit from Chicago and nothing here compares to Campanella's. We spend a week here and visit Campanella's at least 4 times. I recommend the house salad with the house dressing! The pizza is awesome! The angel hair pasta is awesome. The sauce with the angel hair pasta is the best I've ever had. Definitely try the limoncello cake! The overall ambiance leaves you feeling like you are actually visiting Italy. 6 stars!

It gets 3 stars since I would call it a 3.5 but certainly not a 4. Had the homemade gnocchi that lacked the finish prep work of a fork press that is too be expected for a texture difference. Didn't get to try the pizza which is apparently good, garlic bread with dinner is a nice touch. The sangria had nutmeg and something else that shouldnt have been in it.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century.
